This year EDGE chose to present an award at our annual banquet to honor our most valuable asset, our investors.   Without our dedicated investors, we wouldn’t be where we are  today.  Because of our committed partners who truly believe in the mission of the EDGE organization and who have invested their hard earned dollars, we have been able to accomplish many things in our community. 

 Bart Keller, Vice President of the Investor and Community Relations team had the distinct honor of presenting our first annual Investor of the Year award.   The following is an excerpt from his speech.

“The recipient of this year’s award has made a monumental investment in the City of Falls City and the surrounding area.  The $20 million dollar plus facility that Community Medical Center has built in Falls City is second to none in the health care arena and will provide the highest quality healthcare in Southeast Nebraska.  This new facility will now be able to expand services to patients through new out patient services, state of the art delivery rooms, and an unbelievable surgery suite.

This beautiful new facility on the north edge of town is testament to the dedication of the Board of Directors, Administration, Medical Staff and the 150 staff members of CMC.   To quote Mayor Vandeberg, “Let us remember that a hospital in and of itself, is only brick and mortar and fixtures and equipment, what really makes this hospital function are the special people inside this building”.

Community Medical Center’s services do not stop inside the confines of their building, they are constantly providing wellness services to the public, such as: Diabetic Education Outreach, Good Beginnings, The FIT Program and Health fair, as well as sponsoring other programs and various seminars.

Speaking of dedication, the Community Medical Center board also captured over $1.5 million in private donations from the surrounding community.  A very grand show of support for our new state of the art medical facility and the future of Falls City.   This is just another way of people expressing their renewed support for growth and opportunity in Falls City.

 I know I speak for the EDGE Board of Directors, our investors, the people of Falls City and Richardson County, as well as patients from outlying areas when I thank you for your outstanding community investment, dedication and desire to excel in the field of healthcare in our area.  We are very proud of our new Community Medical Center and pleased to present you our first ever Investor of the Year Award.”
