Build the Infrastructure Falls City Needs

The choices we make now about our city’s systems will shape Falls City’s future growth. Things like reliable power, ready-to-build sites, good transportation, housing, childcare, and recreation all help us attract new investment and serve our residents.

Community Infrastructure and Investment is the second main focus of the Falls City EDGE Strategic Plan. The aim is to address key infrastructure needs and prepare the community for steady, responsible growth.

Modernize Critical Infrastructure

Falls City EDGE will team up with city leaders and local partners to improve the infrastructure needed for future industrial growth. The main priorities are:

  • Addressing substation needs and reviewing electrical transmission agreements.
  • Assist city officials with migration to network integrated electrical status.
  • Preparing utility systems to meet future business and industrial demand.

Prepare Sites for Business Growth

Businesses need locations with dependable utilities and good transportation links. Falls City EDGE will keep working to make these sites ready for new investment.

The main priorities are moving forward with a dual rail engineering study to identify multiple options for rail access, installing mainline utilities at the North Commercial Corridor by spring 2027, and fixing important utility needs for current development projects by the end of 2026. EDGE will also keep promoting available buildings and sites to businesses and site selectors.

Support Workforce Needs

Infrastructure also means the resources people need to live and work in Falls City. EDGE will work with local partners to improve housing, childcare, and recreation.

The plan includes creating a full housing plan by the end of 2027, finding where childcare is lacking and coming up with lasting solutions, and making plans for more cultural and recreational options, like more walking trails.

Plan for Long-Term Growth

These projects give us a clear plan for investing in infrastructure. By working on utilities, business sites, and workforce needs at the same time, Falls City can better help current employers, attract new investment, and meet the needs of our growing community.
